The short version: you send a photo, we send a proof, and nothing is finished until you're happy with it.
About AI. Each portrait is created by our designer using AI tools from your photo, then reviewed and finished by hand.
Ordering and proofs
- Which photo works best?
- A clear, well-lit photo where your pet's face, eyes and ears are visible, taken at their eye level. Phone photos are perfect. If your photo limits the result, we will tell you before we start. Our photo guide has more tips.
- Can you do more than one pet?
- Each listing is for one pet. For two or more in one portrait, message us on Etsy before ordering.
- Can I see it before you finish?
- Yes. Portraits, gift sets and canvases always get a proof in Etsy Messages, usually within 24 hours. Ornaments get one if you choose "Yes, send a proof" at checkout or if your photo needs a closer look.
- How many revisions do I get?
- Two revisions are free. If you need more, we're happy to quote for them.
- Can I change the style after ordering?
- Yes, just ask before you approve the proof.
- My pet has passed away. Can you still make a portrait?
- Of course. Older or imperfect photos are welcome, and you can add their name and years beneath the portrait.
- Do you make house portraits for real estate agents?
- Yes. We have a watercolor house portrait listing made as a closing gift for agents and lenders to give their clients. If you close several homes a month, message us before ordering and we will set up a simple routine for you.
How the art is made
- Is this made with AI?
- Yes. Each portrait is created by our designer using AI tools from your photo, then reviewed and finished by hand. Our designer uses AI tools to create the portrait from your photo, then reviews, corrects and finishes it. That's how we can send proofs in hours instead of weeks. We say this on every listing, and we never pretend a person painted it.
- Who writes the names and dates?
- We do. Names and dates are typeset in a classic typeface, never drawn by a machine, so they're spelled exactly as you write them. Please double-check the spelling at checkout.
- Who makes the printed items?
- Ornaments and canvases are printed and shipped by our production partner, Printful.
Files, shipping and policies
- What size can I print the digital file?
- You receive a high-resolution file, 3600 x 4800 px (12 x 16 in at 300 dpi). It prints sharply up to 12 x 16 inches, a 3:4 shape. Smaller prints in the same shape, like 6 x 8 or 9 x 12, work too.
- Can I use the digital file commercially?
- The file is for personal use: print it, frame it, use it on cards. Commercial resale isn't included.
- How long does it take?
- Proofs usually arrive within 24 hours, and digital files are usually delivered within 1 to 2 days. Printed items are shipped by Printful with tracking added to your order as soon as they ship. Production and delivery times are shown at checkout.
- When should I order for Christmas?
- Please order printed items by December 7, because our production partner's holiday cutoffs are in early December. Digital portraits can be delivered right up to Christmas.
- Can I return my order?
- Every piece is made to order from your photo, so we can't accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. If anything arrives damaged, defective or different from the approved proof, message us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and we will replace it or refund you.
- Can I cancel?
- You can cancel free of charge within 24 hours of ordering. After that we've usually started on your piece, so please message us first and we'll see what we can do.
- What happens to my photo?
- By uploading a photo you confirm you own it or have permission to use it. We use it only to make your order, delete customer photos 60 days after delivery, and never use them in marketing without your OK.
- How do I contact you?
- Send us a message through our Etsy shop. That keeps your order, proofs and files in one place.
